What does your kid eat?

Trying to get some new meal ideas for Ashlyn. She could live off of oatmeal and pizza lol. She eats oatmeal or maltomeal almost every morning except for special days I have donuts on hand. She eats plenty of yogurt and diced peaches. I buy these individual size organic pizza's from HEB that she loves and I dont mind her eating since they have 7 whole grains so it's good for her. But other than the typical pb&j and chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, she needs more veggies! Does anyone have good meal ideas that your kid loves to eat especially those with a picky eater? Love to hear!

My kids eat spaghetti like crazy! And to get them to eat veggies, I will saute green beans with a little olive oil and bacon pieces (mom taught me this one!) It's better than no veggies at all. Also, I can sometimes get them to eat LeSueur peas because they are sweeter! Good luck - I feel your pain!

I can give you ideas but Faith is not a picky eater at all. She will try anything once. She loves sweet peas, corn and fried okra (not healthy I know and she gets that from me). I do a lot of soups in the crock pot that I put tons of veggies in and she loves them. Also, she likes casseroles, but I know lots of kids don't. Good luck.

My kiddos aren't very picky either, but they do love them some bean burritos (homeade of course) and tacos! Taco salad is a big hit too and super easy oh and Faith LOVES stuffed shells its her favorite.

okay kg is not a picky eater and as strange as it is she loves fruit and veggies and does not like things like mac n cheese or pizza very much. Good meals she loves is pesto pasta--it is a dish I make with rotini pasta and veggies like snap peas, red bell peppers, broccoli, and asparagus. And pesto sauce. I make it with a caeser salad which is her fave and this is totally her favorite meal. other things she loves are eggs and turkey bacon. or turkey tacos with near east rice--I give her cheese and tomato on the side and some guacamole and she is good to go. strawberries and grapes are her favorite fruits and sliced apples. Dipping is always good it is how kg eats most of her veggies like broccoli and carrots b.c she will dip then in ranch. maybe try apple slices with peanut butter. she also loves corn. I make an enchilada casserole she likes. she also eats turkey burgers which are super duper easy and good for them. grilled cheese. for breakfast she will eat organic toaster pastries from whole foods or central market carries them too. she also loves bagels with cream cheese. or wheat toast with butter or cream cheese. hope this helps momma sorry I wrote a whole chapter on this!!

one more thing I think it more normal for kids to be picky eaters than not so dont worry I am sure she will expand her palette the older she gets!!

Connor likes broccoli and brussel sprouts and green beans and salad ... green things. He can be a picky eater at times but as long as I get him to at least try it I'm happy. There are times when he turns food away and I keep being persistent to the point that he finally he tries it; it either comes back out or goes down with a "mmmm."
My grandmother always use to say, as I was growing up, "your tastebuds will change." So perhaps that will be true with Miss Ashlyn. Just make sure to give her a vitamin to substitute for not eating veggies. ;)

Thank you all for your advice and tips. it's not that she's really picky, she just doesn't like trying new things, but I do make her. I'll try the sweet peas. She does eat cucumbers and carrots with ranch. Anything she can dip. She loves 7 layer dip. Thank you all, I just need to introduce more.

I'm a little late on this one but Luke loves the Steam Fresh Asian Medley by Birds Eye (he will eat every baby corn out of the whole bag!). Actually he will eat just about any of the plain steam fresh veggies if I put lemon pepper seasoning on them! He's a pretty picky eater but he does well with broccoli, cauliflower, corn and carrots. Something that I do is make muffins for breakfast and I'll do pumpkin or zucchini (or even different squashes in the fall) so that he is getting more veggies. I usually cut back on the sugar for him. Luke has just now gotten where he will eat pizza! Crazy kid!
