It's FALL

I love this season. I love all the warm colors and cool weather. I love the fall decor and pumpkins. I can't wait to start layering clothes and wearing boots. I heart boots!
Ashlyn and I haven't decided yet what her halloween costume will be. She always names a different princess and well I'd like her to be something unique so I guess we'll keep looking.

Me on the other hand .... I'm still dealing with all day sickness. My body just stays nauseous most of the time. I have some good days and I have some bad ones. My eating is under control, luckily I'm not having to eat every 30 minutes but if I do get hungry I get sick.
Once I get my ultrasound pictures scanned I'll post those.
My last appointment my doctor was able to see the baby a lot better so he was able to get a better measurement showing me further along than the previous week. So, I am 8 weeks and 3 days today..I think. I go back in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to the next trimester that's for sure.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I'm curious who even reads this anymore besides my few friends who still comment and blog. :)

GUESS WHAT??!!

Well most of you already know but for those of you who do not, we are PREGNANT again!!! I have been waiting to tell everyone until after my doctor's appointment which was today. According to the dates of my last period, I am 8 weeks and 5 days, however based on the size of the baby today, he said I was only 6 weeks and 2 days. So that was confusing. I was able to hear the strong heartbeat which was very comforting. Ashlyn and my mom went with me.
My DR wants to see me again on Monday just to check me again. Because of my last miscarriage he just wants to keep a close eye on things for awhile which I'm very happy about.

We told Ashlyn the day I took the test. She is very excited however sometimes docent believe me because my belly doesn't look like a belly with a baby in it just yet :)

As of right now my due date is May 15, 2010. We are very excited. We have been trying for this little all year so I am truly thankful.

As far as how I'm feeling? Well, I'm hungry...ALL THE TIME. OMG it's really annoying. I'm not one of those that throw up and feel better. I'm one that if I feel hungry, I get nauseous and have to eat. This is like every hour or less. Talk about weight gain ugh. I've been pretty tired too. So all of which are good, healthy symptoms.

Now that I finally told everyone, I can keep everyone updated. Please keep us in your prayers that all goes well with this pregnancy. Any tips for good snacks please share, although sometimes nothing sounds good. ha. Oh the joys of pregnancy.

Our Anniversary getaway

Luis and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend. We decided to take a night to getaway. One, for our anniversary and two, for a last chance to get away before he starts up at the Academy on Monday. We left on Sat and spent the day in Gruene. I love that town. We had lunch at the Gristmill. They had a chicken salad sandwhich to die for! We walked around town then had dessert at the Tearoom, very yummy. We then headed to San Antonio for the night. The place where we spent so much time in the very beginning where he was stationed. We finally got into our hotel, chilled out for a little bit then got dressed and headed down to the Riverwalk. We had dinner at the Saltgrass. I love me some steaks. The next day we walked around Market Square and had lunch at Mi Tierra, another one of our favorite places. With bellies full we headed back home to our little girl.
I love my husband more than these words can even describe. I thank God for shoving me to go after him ;) (I blew him off a time or two) I love you baby and I look forward to what our future holds.

Diving board and chicken fried..

Just a few pictures since nothing else is really going on. Ashlyn is still loving to swim. She is almost fearless now. She loves jumping off the diving board and off the side. She swims in the deep end, floats around the pool. It's such a relief knowing your 3 yr old can swim, and I mean really swim if she ever got in a bind. She fell in the other night in her pjs bc she was running around the pool. She was fine, swam right to the side and got out. Here are some pics of the diving board jumps. her face is priceless.

And here she is cooking fried chicken with her Gmommie. She loves to help with anything now (except cleaning her room ha) but she loves to help cook and fold laundry. Mommie's little helper.

It's official

Although Luis hasn't started the academy (set of Sept 14), we had the orientation today. We got all of our paperwork, a packet for him, a packet for me. We, the spouses, were briefed on what to expect throughout the academy and thereafter. It's a lot like the Army with the hours, the PT, the testing and time away from home. I know the next 8 months will be gruesome, more so for him than me, but it's tasking on the family too. Even though it's similar to the military, I know it's not the same. There will be alot of new stuff. Our life is about to change, yet again but we are ready for it. We are a team and I'm proud of my husband taking on this career. I'm anxious to be apart of this 'family' of police officers and their wives. Good thing about this group of wives is that we stay in the same city forever!
There is a book the spouses are supposed to read called "I Love a Cop" and we will discuss it at our upcoming meetings.
I look forward to the next few years, get this first part pass us so we can breathe and then start the long awaited new chapter in our lives with buying a home and finally settling here in Austin with a career we both love, his law enforcement and my photography. This long journey we have had already will help us get through the next part and I'm anxious to see what the future holds.

Swim lessons year 2

This is Ashlyn's second year at swim lessons with Ms Pam O'Connor, the best teacher by far taht Austin has to offer. She was hesitant at first with tears and all but after the first few days she was eager to get in and swim. She swims so well, I'm amazed. Her bad habit this year though is keeping her head out of the water , more like treading water or dog paddling) when she puts her head down like she is supposed to she is SO fast and swims perfectly. Not sure what got in to her keeping her head bobbing but still she did well. I'm very proud of her. We let her play on the playground after she swam.

Update...

We went to see Ashlyn's friend, Isaiah, swim at his swim lessons today and well Ashlyn ended up joining him in class, haha. She also got to jump off the diving board since her pool didn't have one. Here are a couple from Isaiah's class.

Update

I'm sorry, I have been neglecting this blog. I tend to update my FB, photography blog and website and this one gets neglected.
Things have been going well. I have started the "Spartanettes Bootcamp" It's going really well. It's hard but we have a great coach and great group of girls.
We have been enjoying our summer. Ashlyn started swimming lessons last week. She is so fast! She swam 25ft today with 3 breaths. I'm so proud of her. I haven't taken pictures yet but I will tomorrow.
We went to Leakey, TX last weekend with Luis' family and had a blast. We want to make it a yearly trip. To view pictures click HERE We made a stop in Fredericksburg on the way home so the last of those pictures are taken there. I edited some and some I didnt. I posted the good ones on my other blog.

Luis starts APD Academy Sept 14th! So that is a relief, he will finally be working again. We have really enjoyed this nice long break though, gotten kindof spoiled, but it's good we will be back on a routine.
That's about it for us. I hope all of you are doing well!! Now it's on to read your blogs :)
