Firetrucks...cookies...and fun!

This weekend was eventful. My friend Shea was keeping her 2 nieces for the weekend along with her son. So we spent most of our weekend with them. Friday we scheduled a visit to the Round Rock Firestation where my sister in law works. I think the mamas had more fun then the kiddos haha. Shea and I got to go 87ft into the air on the ladder which was super fun. I think Isaiah enjoyed it the most, the girls were a little scared of the big truck. Saturday we let the kids decorate cookies, had a bbq and hung out. I did get the pleasure of taking the kids pictures this weekend. Shea's son and 3 nieces = 4 grandkids..so we got some group pics and some individuals. They turned out so good and I'll be posting those on my other blog. I also took some very cute pictures of Deb's baby, Braden in the pumpkins, he just melts my heart with that smile!
Here are pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

I had to make her get on this with me. She was a bit scared.
But not Isaiah, he wanted to go as high as he could. (which was 4ft)

Here we go..up up and away!

The End!

Fall = Pumpkins

First off I must say HOOK'EM HORNS!! I am so happy UT beat OU that was a great game and of course every Saturday for game day Ashlyn usually wears her burnt orange to cheer on Bevo ha. We enjoyed a good day today at DeeDee's house (Debralea) and after we left I took Ashlyn and my niece to pick out a pumpkin in Pflugerville. I plan on taking her to the good one in Marble Falls soon , I read they have hay rides, pony rides, and great kid activities and there I will take her real fall picture. But here are a few from today in her UT cheerleading outfit.

And my sister and I made her Tinker Bell costume this weekend and it's soooo cute and girly. I'm just hoping she won't be scared of Trick or Treating ha.
I'm excited it's fall. I cant wait to start buying her fall clothes, wish it would cool off just a little bit more.

Recycle and unplug!

Austin is now distributing large trash can size recycling bins to every neighborhood and I have been waiting for this to happen. I have never been one to recycle but I have always wanted to, but having to sort everything made it more tedious, but now with one large can that you can put everything in with limited restrictions..count me in! I filled up over half the blue can today and was so excited about it. It just makes you feel good when know you are helping our earth, the earth that our children will be left to deal with when we are long and gone. Now the hard part is getting my parents to pitch in but I'll be the stickler and keep this going.

Also I was watching a show this week and I have seen this before, but a great way to save big on your energy bill, is to unplug everything that is not in use. This one lady had a bill of over 200, after unplugging everything the next month it was 90 and the next in the 60's. Something like 40% of the energy being used is the appliances and things plugged in but turned off! Now unpugging things around here is almost impossible but I'm interested in trying it when I get my own place, anything to save money! Just wondering if anyone has tried this or willing to try it to see if this in fact really works! I read you can save over 30% just by unplugging.

Get it together!

Time Warner and KXAN! So as of today, Time Warner is not airing KXAN which is NBC which means I cant watch Days of our Lives (thank goodness for SOAP channel) Lipstick Jungle!!! HELLO!!! Heroes and who knows what else is missing! This is so stupid, I'm sure it won't last long, customers are going to get upset from this. Apparently Time Warner and KXAN could not come to an agreement soooo they arent airing NBC. I hope they get it together!

Logo help...

Hey... I'm not sure how many of you check out my photography blog also, but I am trying to design a logo and a look for that blog to make it more professional looking. I need some extra eyes to help me decide which logo to use. So if you could go check it out and let me know what you think. Thank you. I also changed the blog name and web address so make sure you save this one http://browneyedgirlphotography.blogspot.com/ .

What does your kid eat?

Trying to get some new meal ideas for Ashlyn. She could live off of oatmeal and pizza lol. She eats oatmeal or maltomeal almost every morning except for special days I have donuts on hand. She eats plenty of yogurt and diced peaches. I buy these individual size organic pizza's from HEB that she loves and I dont mind her eating since they have 7 whole grains so it's good for her. But other than the typical pb&j and chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, she needs more veggies! Does anyone have good meal ideas that your kid loves to eat especially those with a picky eater? Love to hear!

Checking in with pictures...

Well a lot has happened over the past week so I thought I'd update all in one. Last Thursday I went to Gruene with my older sister and my niece. We met in San Marcos Outlet at Pottery Barn FUN! I havent been there in years it's so nice and I need to go back and actually SHOP. From there we went to Gruene. We had lunch at the Grismill and then hit the shops around the area and of course had to go into the General store for Blue Bell ice cream! Gruene is such a pretty town, I hadn't been there since I was a child, it's so fun now that I'm an adult. I need to go back! Here are some pictures from that day.

Then, this weekend we were invited by the Stabeno family to go see Joe Scruggs concert on Saturday. I didnt get any picutres of that but it was fun. Ashlyn loved the Glow in the Dark show and the music. She is still talking about it. That day was also Maddie's 1st birthday so we then went over to Phil's Ice House off of Burnet Road. Why I have never been there I dont know but it's such a great place! It is a great hamburger place and shares a building with Amy's Ice Cream, lots of outdoor seating with a huge playground and shuffle board. Ashlyn had so much fun. I know it will become a favorite spot for our family when Luis gets home.
We also went down to the Pecan Street Fest on 6th which was nice, but didnt last long with the kiddos. But just reminds me how much I just love Austin!

Other than that, I'm taking another photography class of Friday nights and really enjoying it. I'm slowly but surely getting this business up and running and loving what I do.
Luis should hopefully be home in December and that's right around the corner!! It's very exciting, I cant wait to have him back home so he doesnt have to miss out on any more with us.
Ok lets talk TV!! I am SOO excited that the new seasons are beginning this week! But first...Army Wives, one of my FAV shows ever, it has been so good lately.
Grey's. Last we saw McDreamy walked away from Meredith on the candle lit hillside..where did he go? What will happen? Will they EVER get back together?
Desperate Housewives what is with this 5 years later business? I hope it doesnt skip that far in advance! think it's a dream or for real?
Ugly Betty will it be Gio or Henry? I personally like Gio and Betty together. We shall see!
Lipstick Jungle not sure if you have watched this one or not, but it's a new steamy drama for us women. 3 powerful business women, all best friend, their love life, business life, etc Very good show.
HEROES starts tonight but this is a show Luis loves and we watch together so I dont know whether to watch it now or wait until he's home and rent it? ahh not sure.
I'm sure I'm leaving off a few but I cant wait until they start. Too bad I dont have my own casa or I'd have a big Thurs night viewing party for Grey's and Ugly Betty.
It's almost October! Which means Halloween! What is your little critter going to be this Halloween? Ashlyn is really into Little Mermaid but I had thought tinkerbell too. I can't decide!
That about wraps it up! Have a great week!
