We love babies!

Aunt DeeDee (Debralea) finally gave birth to a healthy and precious baby boy on Tuesday. You can read her blog for details. But I had to post these pictures of Ashlyn holding him. She LOVES babies, especially Braden who she has been waiting for for so long. Today she actually was touching her tummy and saying "come out Braden, come out!" lol She used to talk to DeeDee's belly and tell Braden to come out! I think some of the best memories are the things kids say.
And she now loves to skinny dip, I let her do it ONE time and now she insists!

It's a good month

I signed up for a photography class at ACC and today was the first day. I'm really excited about it and it's going to teach me a lot. It's a 9 week course that teaches everything about digital photography and editing, photoshop and more. I'm super excited about this, it gives me hope that I just may be able to start my own business one day!
I'm just glad I'm doing something for ME now, feel like there is something more I'm meant to do than just be a mother and wife, which is what I live for and I love more than anything but I also want to have a passion outside of that so I think this is it and I feel really good about it.

On another note. Ashlyn is feeling much better now! The antibiotics worked ..yay. She is turning 2 tomorrow..aww..my baby girl is growing so fast. I'll post more tomorrow with a little montage of her.

And also...countdown is now in the teens!!! Even better when it hits single digits! Luis should be leaving around the 16th headed this way. I'm soooo excited and so anxious I just want him here already!

It's a double doozie..

Ear infection that is! Ashlyn spiked a fever yesterday which did not go away all night or by this afternoon so I took her to the CVS Minute Clinic. Which for those who dont know, there are clinics in some CVS stores that is no appt and does take insurance (not mine though) but it's fast and right up the road. So turns out, she has a double ear infection :( So they gave me Amoxicillin. I have kept her on Tylenol and Motrin around the clock for the fever. She's had her ups and downs today mostly downs but she got a tiny bit better. I had also done some searching online and found out that oils can help soothe pain of ear infections pretty quick. The most popular was garlic oil, but I didnt have that so I just used warm drops of olive oil. It seemed to help. I did that this evening and once I did she went to sleep. So I'll keep watch on her through the night. I just hate seeing my baby girl in pain :( By the way, I do have a web journal I keep just of Ashlyn since she was born, good things, milestones, illnesses etc So any new mom's or mom's to be or anyone who wants can read it too. Please say a prayer for my baby girl tonight.

BCHS Class of '98 10 Year Reunion

I cant believe it's been 10 years since I graduated high school!! Yesterday we had our class reunion at the Oasis, which by the way is gorgeous! We didn't have a huge turnout and it was too short for a reunion but none the less it was good to see those who came and we missed those who couldn't.

Did they really just end Ugly Betty leaving us all hanging??? How could they?! She better pick Gio and go to Rome. And I'm so tired of Wilamina and Alexis.

Greys...the best show in the history of tv shows! But I could totally do without the whole Callie/Haun thing, it's just disturbing. Love how George stood up to the Chief and more so loved how Yang stood up to Haun and did her thing! It's about time!
Poor Alex, his world is upside down and in need of help himself. That was tear jerking.
So is this finally going to happen between Meredith and Derek? I loved that ending with them though, the candles were so pretty. Just a great episode tonight , just sucks its the finale!

Have a great and safe Memorial Day weekend! My 10 year high school reunion is Saturday, 10 years flew by! kinda scary but it will be great to see everyone again!

Potty training continues

Just an update with potty training in case any of you are interested haha. Ashlyn is getting so much better and everytime I take her now she at least goes tee tee in the potty. So today I went out and bought pull-ups and tinker bell panties to help persuade her to keep it up because the other day she actually told me she needed to go poo poo and I was so happy. I think I jinxed her today by buying all the big girl stuff, she has gone her in diapers all day and #2 like 4 times and never told me! Potty training is not fun! We have a few weeks left until she turns 2 I was hoping for that to be my goal but it may go a month longer which I'll be fine with too. Just the sooner we are done with diapers the better! Any tips/suggestions/advice..feel free to chime in! :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I hope all of you mom's out there and a great relaxing day surrounded my love and support from everyone!

My day was wonderful. I made french toast for my family this morning..yum. I was the one that wanted it because I knew if I were home and Luis was home with me, that's what he would have made for me so I just had to have it today. Then I spent some time talking to my husband. Who totally made my day by telling me this:

"Remember that I love you with all my heart and soul, and in my eyes you are the best mother I could want for my children.
You are an example of what a wife, mother, and lover should be.
Thank you for all that you do.
You mean the absolute world to me
and I dont think that I could have withstood all this without your support."

How sweet is that, more than anything else, that meant the most! And to top it off, he had a gift delivered to me! My Coach Perfume! I love it and I was so surprised he did this for me.
My sister and I layed out by the pool for a couple of hours, totally need to work on this tan before Luis gets home. Then we spent the whole day with the family. My brothers came over, my aunt, uncle and cousins were here. We had good food, wine and lots of love and laughs. Here are pictures from our day today. Enjoy!

My handmade gift to my mama. I made a stepping stone for her garden with all the grandkid's pictures. She loved it. And Ashlyn and I painted a little birdhouse for her too.

Robert August Jr has arrived!

My best friend, Robert and his wife Kristi had their baby boy this morning! I just took their maternity pictures last week and she went into labor early this morning on their scheduled inducement date. 4 hours later Robert JR was born weighing 7lbs and was 19.25" long. Robert sent me these pictures from his phone but I hope to go up there today and meet this baby boy. Congratulations Robert and Kristi!!

I felt like a super model

Today was the big day, Hot Momma pampering day. It was so much fun. It started with getting my hair done at Zig Zag Salon by Melody which I loved my hair!! She curled it all over with these big soft curls which I'm so into right now instead of wearing it straight all the time. Then got my makeup done by Katie Astoria. She did a fabulous job also and was so sweet.
Then the oh so fabulous Lisa Woods took me around downtown Austin on a photoshoot. It was so much fun and I can't wait to see the photos after she works her magic. She is so talented.
Thank you girls for an amazing day that made me feel so special and so sexy. I cant wait to send Luis a picture of me that he can show off :)

I have really been into my photography 'learning' and I wanted to be able to post some of my pictures. I'm trying my best to learn and to practice so I can start a business. What to do with these curls

Ashlyn has very curly hair as all of you know. And the tangles in the back are insane when she wakes up and she cries everytime we do her hair even before I start. I have a detangler spray but it does not work. Does anyone know of a good detangler and conditioner for little Shirley Temple's like mine to ease the pain of brushing through those darn tangles.
